Read people.
Get read back.
On TRIBES you read people by picking the Tribes that fit them, and they read you back. Then you see how the community reads you, next to how you read yourself.
Free to use, for adults 18 or older. Your location stays at country level.

Read, get read, compare
Profiles on TRIBES are photos. No names, no ages, no bios. Everything you learn about people, and everything they learn about you, comes from reads.
- 1
Read people
Swipe a photo and pick 1 to 3 Tribes that fit the person. Every swipe comes with a read. There is no like or dislike.
- 2
Get read back
Other people read you the same way. Reads aren't anonymous: each reader shows up in Reads with their photo. What each one picked stays private: once 3 people have read you, you see their Tribes together.
- 3
Compare
Community adds your reads up: the Tribe people pick most for you, the full mix, and how it lines up with the Tribes you picked for yourself.
Flames come on top of reads. Double-tap someone you're interested in to send one, and if it goes both ways, you match. How Flames work
Try a read
Reading someone is the moment TRIBES is built on. Pick the Tribes you think fit him, the way you would in the app.
Example profile. Nothing here is sent anywhere.

He sees you read him
Reads aren't anonymous. In his Reads, it shows up like this:
What happens next
- He never sees which Tribes you picked, unless you both flame and match.
- Your read adds up with everyone else’s on his Community page, once 3 people have read him. He sees reads only as a group, next to the Tribes he picked for himself.
- Once enough people have read him, it also counts toward your eye: how often you read people the way the community does.
It works the same way for you: everyone who reads you shows up in your Reads.
How the community reads you
Your Community page adds up every read you get, and sets it next to the Tribes you picked for yourself.

Your own Tribes stay private
You pick 1 to 3 Tribes for yourself when you join. Nobody else ever sees them, not even a match. They are there so you can compare.
A Tribe is named only when it’s clear
The community’s pick shows once one Tribe clearly leads. Until then, you see the mix and a plain “Not clear yet”.
Your eye shows how in step you are
For people the community already agrees on, it counts how often your read matched. It measures agreement, not accuracy. There is no right read.
27 Tribes in five families

A Flame means something
Reads are how TRIBES works. Flames are how you say you're interested, and there are only a few.
Double-tap to send one. A Flame always comes with your read of that person.
Start with 3, earn more. Tasks pay out new Flames, from finishing setup to daily and weekly activity. There is no automatic refill, so each one counts.
When Flames go both ways, you match. The match shows the Tribes you picked for each other.
No chat inside TRIBES. Matches continue on apps they already use, through links each person chooses to add. Links are only ever shown to matches.
AINew here? Warm up in Practice
Practice is a separate feed, marked AI, with only AI profiles in it. Read them and send Flames for free. Nothing there reaches a real person, and it never counts as real activity.
Safety and privacy
What TRIBES shares, what it doesn't, and what you can do if something feels wrong.
Adults only, 18 or older
You give your birthdate when you sign up, and TRIBES checks it on its server. People under 18 can’t get in.
Country, not location
Your feed is shaped by your country. You can pick it yourself, and if you let TRIBES detect it, your exact position isn’t kept.
Links only for matches
The social handles you add are shown to people you’ve matched with, and nobody else.
Block and report
Block or report someone from the feed, Readers, Flames or Matches. Blocking hides you from each other.
Reads aren’t anonymous
The person you read sees your photo. The Tribes you picked stay private unless you both flame, and your own Tribes are never shown.
AI profiles stay apart
AI profiles appear only in Practice and Spot the Tribe, both marked AI and kept apart from real people.
Questions
Short answers about TRIBES, reads, privacy and Flames.
About TRIBES
What is a Tribe?
A shared word for a look or a scene, like Otter (slim and hairy) or Geek (nerdy interests). There are 27, in five families. You pick 1 to 3 for yourself, and other people pick the ones they think fit you.
Is TRIBES a dating app?
No. TRIBES is about how people read each other. You can send Flames and match, but that comes on top of reads, and there is no chat inside the app.
Does TRIBES cost anything?
No. There are currently no payments, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Where can I get TRIBES?
TRIBES is in testing and isn’t in app stores yet. For questions, write to support@tribes-app.net.
Reads and privacy
Can people see how I read them?
Not one by one. Reads aren’t anonymous: the person sees that you read them, with your photo. The Tribes you picked stay private unless you both flame. Reads only show as a group, once 3 people have read someone.
Who sees the Tribes I pick for myself?
Nobody else, not even your matches. They’re there so you can compare them with how the community reads you.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete Profile. You can also ask for deletion by email. See how
Flames and Practice
How do I get more Flames?
You start with 3. Tasks pay out more, from finishing setup to daily and weekly activity. There is no automatic daily refill.
What is Practice?
A separate feed, marked AI, with only AI profiles in it. You can try reading and sending Flames there for free. Nothing you do there reaches a real person or counts toward your activity.
